October 20, 2019 Meeting Notes

Board Meeting at noon, regular member meeting at 1:00pm
Present at board meeting: Erica Perry, John Fink, Steve Kolpacke, Erica Perry, Dan Konyn, (non-Board
Members) Russ Clinard and Carroll Jackson. Additional members showed up as time passed.
Regular Meeting: About 20 people present.

John Fink (VP) led the board and regular meeting in Jeff’s absence.
Steve Kolpacke reviewed the clubs financial position: Bills are current and sufficient cash in is in the bank
to cover foreseeable cash needs. Same for Eisenhower center.
(Note: In the future, you will need to bring your own treats as the club will no longer organize cookies etc.
Coffee will still be available.)

Eisenhower outreach is down to Tuesdays only until more clients are participating. Dan also mentioned
that the Eisenhower Center is considering putting up a building to house the club’s activities. He also
mentioned that if the facility is large enough, the club may be able to meet there.
The meeting that was scheduled at The Michigan Folk School (7734 Plymouth Rd. Ann Arbor, MI 48105)
was postponed until Jason is able to reschedule a meeting.

Erica mentioned the Christmas sales event is on Saturday & Sunday, Dec 7 & 8 from 10-5 on Saturday
and 10-3 on Sunday at the Crossroads Community Center. Set up time is on Friday from noon until
evening. Several members including Bill, Joe, and Mark volunteered to help with setup. Clean up
immediately afterwards.

Club members are encouraged to sell their goods at the event. Your cost to enter your goods is $10 per
table, 20% of your sales to the non-profits we are sponsoring, and we ask that you help prepare and
clean up the facility.

Open discussion followed about the energy level of the club. Members expressed a desire for more
planning and follow through.

John’s challenge for next month, bring a handmade tool or jig that you have created.

Dan brought three pieces that he worked on. Pictures attached.
One appears to be a napkin holder that is not pictured, a hollowed vessel and the other was a finished
natural edged platter.

Dan also spoke of safety and demonstrated a new breathing apparatus that available on EBay.
3M Air-Mate PAPR HEPA Air Filter Purifying Respirator KIT. Can be purchased for around $50. This is a
significant deal.

Mark Krecic shared two pieces that he made. Pictures attached
Three potential new members attended. Two left their names.

Bill Anderson presented how he does “Inside Out Work”. p;
