The Huron Valley Woodturners will be meeting at the Crossroads Community Center at 5501 Webster Church Rd., Dexter, MI 48130. While the official start time is 1 p.m., the doors should be open by 12:45 p.m.. As usual, we will have a brief safety discussion, show-and-tell with Q and A, and a possibly a raffle. The main topic for the meeting will be “dealing with difficult-to-turn/finish wood.” Bring examples of pieces you’ve turned, successfully or not, that posed such challenges as punky wood, wild grain, wood prone to tear out, etc.
